Ingredients
- 1 kg small cucumbers (2.2 lbs)
- 1 litre water (4 cups)
- 3 tbsp salt
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 3 tbsp vinegar
- 1 bunch dill (about 30 g or 1 oz)
- 5 cloves garlic, chopped
- 2 tsp mustard seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Wash the cucumbers thoroughly under cold water. Cut off the ends of the cucumbers to help them absorb the flavors better.
- Chop the dill and garlic. Place the cucumbers in the bowl. add the chopped dill, garlic, mustard seeds (if using), salt, sugar, and vinegar. Pour the water over these ingredients and stir until the salt and sugar are fully dissolved.
- Cover the bowl with a plate or another lid to keep the cucumbers submerged. Leave the bowl at room temperature for 24 hours.
- After 24 hours, your pickles are ready to eat! Transfer them to a jar or another container and store them in the refrigerator. Enjoy!
