Ingredients
  

  • 1 kg Fresh herring/splinter fillet 2.2 (lbs)
  • 3 eggs
  • 200 g flour 0.44 (lbs)
  • 0.5-1 tsp salt
  • pepper to taste
  • 1 kg potatoes 2.2 (lbs)

Instructions
 

  • Measure the flour into a clean plastic bag, add the fish fillets, close the bag and shake well.
  • The mix is ready when the fish are floury and no longer stick to each other. If necessary, add flour and shake more.
  • Beat an egg in a separate bowl. Take the herrings one by one tail side down from the flour bag, dip them in the egg and put them in a hot pan.
  • Season the fish with black pepper and salt. Fry the fish in butter or oil until golden and crispy on both sides.
  • Serve with boiled or baked potatoes and your favorite dip sauce.
